The Liverpool vs Arsenal live stream presents an opportunity for the home side to secure a statement win and return back to the top of the EPL table when they welcome the Gunners to Anfield on Saturday.

After a drab 0-0 draw with Man United last weekend, Liverpool responded in impressive fashion as they secured a dominant win in the Carabao Cup. Manager Jurgen Klopp freshened up his side and will have been particularly impressed with Curtis Jones, who grabbed a brace. His energy and ability to carry the ball brought an extra dimension to midfield and he may just have secured a place in the starting line-up on Saturday.

For Arsenal, the trip to the North West represents the chance to lay down a serious marker against one of their title rivals. The Gunners haven’t won at Anfield since 2012 but come into the game full of confidence after returning to the top of the table last weekend with a comfortable 2-0 win over an often-tricky Brighton.

Declan Rice has been superb since arriving in the summer and fellow new arrival Kai Havertz is beginning to find his feet with four goals in his last six games. With Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli all fit, the Gunners have plenty of attacking talent and will hope to silence the Anfield crowd early on.

The Gunners sit atop the table on goal difference - though have a game in hand on Aston Villa following their 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Friday night.

It has been a promising season in a rather unusual way for both Liverpool and Arsenal to this point, no doubt buoyed by the unexpected drop-off by defending champions Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds have not exploded with the huge scorelines of the German's previous teams but, as evidenced by the midweek thrashing of West Ham, can turn it on to become unplayable when the opportunity presents itself.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal also appear surprisingly tight following the rambunctious chaos of last year's title challenge, instead regularly nicking late wins in tight games - something which many see as the mark of champions.

Ryan Gravenberch is fit to face Arsenal, but the game comes too soon for Alexis Mac Allister and Diogo Jota. Andy Robertson, Thiago, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic and Ben Doak are also sidelined.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will all return to the XI but Darwin Nunez faces a fight to keep his place up against Cody Gakpo, who scored versus West Ham.

This trip will come too soon for Thomas Partey, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny but Jorginho may return to the Arsenal squad.

Arteta could be unchanged or tinker with his team by introducing Leandro Trossard for some added pace and flair over Kai Havertz's physicality and clinical finishing in midfield.

Fabio Vieira and Jurrien Timber are also still on the sidelines for the Gunners.

Liverpool have been near-perfect at home this season but did show signs of vulnerability against Manchester United last weekend, when they were stifled by a workmanlike low block.

Arsenal boast the league's joint-best defence on the road (along with United) and may not fly out the traps like Liverpool might want them to. The Gunners are seriously better than United on the break, too.

The Gunners have not won a game in 90 minutes at Anfield since Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla provided the goals in a September 2012 visit. In the last seven overall meetings, they've also only won once.

Arsenal are one point clear of Liverpool at the summit going into the latest round of fixtures, and the winners on Merseyside are guaranteed to lead the pack on Christmas Day.

The Gunners will be hoping to make amends for throwing away a two-goal lead in last season's corresponding fixture in April, which ultimate proved costly in the title race as it sparked a four-game winless streak and handed the initiative to eventual champions Manchester City.

Liverpool would have been sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table had they beaten Manchester United last Sunday, but Jürgen Klopp's side delivered a limp attacking performance in the goalless draw.

The Reds partly put things right with a dazzling display in Wednesday's Carabao Cup quarter-final mauling of West Ham United, although the packed fixture list means Klopp has had less than 72 hours to prepare his troops for Arsenal's visit.

Arsenal are back at the top of the table where they got so comfortable last season right up until Man City breezed by. No doubt that will be on Mikel Arteta's mind and he'll be willing his team to open up a gap ahead of the new year.

Beating Liverpool and getting four points ahead would certainly be a great start but they will need to end their poor run of form at Anfield. Gabriel Martinelli will be anxious ahead of facing Trent Alexander Arnold, in one of the best one-on-one duels the Premier League has to offer.
